the series of masks that’s presented is made using the techniques of Mexican cartoneria a traditional and natural process of making sculpture and storytelling through form. I chose this medium as the focus because of my interest in the merging of traditional craft and contemporary expressions. The series tells a story of personal mythologies, dreams and return to orgin using animal decorative masks to express journey and orgin. The two horses represent cosmic duality and the journey of the day into night and the beast represents home and
